2) Observing strategy
We must get down to 400 hr limit for Sep 5 review at SSC
Average AOR size is now 3x30 exposures
We now use variable AOR widths to optimize survey efficiency
We use parallelogram segments to cover the plane, thus eliminating
small AORs (and thus some overhead)
Christer presented a range of options for covering the plane along
with their time requirements.
Dan favors option 5 with full latitude coverage, long=|10-60|
People seem in agreement that we can come back and fill in
longitude coverage later
We converged on full latitude coverage, option 5. Christer and
Chip will work with this one.
Tony says downlink constraints have been removed TOny says, we can
observe as much as we want in 6 hours subject to maximum
IRAC AOR of 6 hours. But Tony warns highly constrianed
observations will be difficult to schedule.
Launch is still scheduled for 15 July.
IRAC In Orbit Checkout will happen fairly early in the mission, so
we might get data as early as late Sep.
Sep 5 review will be a 2 hour presentation:
Ed, Chip, Christer and Barb will go to SSC for this.
Instrument teams are working on latency models we'll need to
answer at the Sep 5 review.
NEXT TELECON: Tuesday, Aug 7, 11:00 a.m. Central time.
