April 6: Survey Plan due
Chip is going to SSC next week and will talk with planning people
Mike researched OPUS which is used for FUSE and STSCI pipeline.
Although no one has used it, Mike feels it has a good trackrecord
at other places. Dan expressed concern that it was hard to use years
ago, but Mike counters that it has evolved considerably since then.
The Dell Workstation has arrived (except the monitor)
Marilyn will be writing tasks to do dead pixel, cosmic ray flagging, etc.
Mark has a zodi background subtraction tool, inputs a time, position on sky,
and where sirtf is, and it computes zodiacal light levels. He has a code
which will integrate along any line of sight.
Chip recommends looking at DuPHOT for photometry
Talk to Nicole Homeier about crowded field photometry and mosaicing
We need to know how bright asteroids will be and avoid entering them
in the bright source catalog.
See Barb's email on data flow also posted on the analysis Team web page.
Bob reviewed the saturation expeectations based on MSX 8 um data. 2-3 sources
per field in the worst parts of the place will saturate in 2 s.
He will extrapolate the MSX source counts to cheeck saturation for 12 s.
What do we want interest groups to work on?
Latency model
Postdoc hire: PVL should be approved to make an offer in the AAS jog register.
Video Conference issues: What are the costs?
Tony:
Will be a 2 s full frame time AOT
High Dynamic Range will be tough due to limited bandwidth, so that
is in question. New HDR might be 2 frames only.
Tony wonders how we will deal with saturation. Fazio's image team is
developing a model for latency that we will depend on.
Tony is concerned with use of OPUS. They evidently hate it at SSC.
Friday, April 13, review of progress to date
